The Guymon Police Department, in conjunction with the District Attorney's Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force and the District 1 Narcotics Task Force rounded up several people in drug busts on Friday night and Saturday morning.
According to information obtained by The Daily Herald, Guymon police arrested two individuals in the 900 block of North May at 11:10 p.m Friday. Police arrested Angela Shirley, 32, of Guymon, for conspiracy to commit a felony, and Marcos Villezco, 36, of Guymon, for possession of cocaine.
According to the jail log, three other individuals, were arrested on drug-related charges. Robert Ware was arrested for seven counts of a controlled dangerous substance, Yanet Alvarez-Medina was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet and in the presence of a child, and Naivy Calvo was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.
Officers were at the Oaks of Mamre on North Ellison Street until approximately 3 a.m. in regards to the drug busts.
No further information on those individuals was available at press time Monday.
Guymon Police Chief Eddie Adamson said the investigations had been ongoing for several months.
"This weekend was a culmination of those investigations," Adamson said. "We have taken some drug dealers and suppliers off the streets and we are ecstatic that this investigation worked so smoothly."
Adamson said the arrests made here put a dent in the drug supply area-wide.
"Things that happen here affect all of us," Adamson said. "By taking the dealers off the streets in Guymon, it will affect the drug supply in neighboring areas."
Adamson said a string of burglaries in the early summer led to additional information about drug dealers in the area.
"We received some information when we had the rash of burglaries," Adamson said. "When all of this stuff started, one thing led to another." |
