Police today are seeking a suspect involved in the armed robbery of the Dollar General store on Highway 64 in Guymon.

The robbery took place at 4:15 p.m. Friday, August 22nd.

A suspect is described as white male, between 40 and 50 years old with salt and pepper brown hair and a short ponytail. He was wearing a blue button-down short, khaki shorts, sunglasses and a tan baseball cap. When leaving, the suspect may have left in a maroon pickup.

"The suspect entered the store and showed an employee a handgun and demanded money," Guymon Police Chief Eddie Adamson said Monday morning. "The suspect then took the money and left the store after ordering the store employee to the back of the store."

One customer was in the back of the store at the time of the robbery. The customer stated she saw the suspect from behind, but he would not look at her. When the customer was headed back to the front to ask a question, she was confronted by the clerk who stated she had just been robbed.

The store's surveillance camera was able to obtain a photo of the suspect as he stood at the register.

This is the second time money was taken from the store. Former manager Greg White took money out of the cash register on June 25, 2007, but made a false report saying two Hispanic males had robbed him. White was charged with embezzlement.

Guymon Police are asking anyone with information on this crime to call the PD at (580) 338-6525.
